Wash your hands first. Clean as directed with sterile wound-wash saline containing 0.9% sodium chloride.
Do not twist or rotate the jewelry, and leave the initial jewelry in place unless a qualified professional advises otherwise.
Skip alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, harsh cleaners, ointments and swimming or soaking during early healing.
